Here’s a peek into one of the most beautiful fall weddings I’ve had the joy of creating a dessert experience for. The bride, a dear friend, transformed an old building into a magical reception space that felt like an autumn dream. With the fall foliage at its peak, the rich, warm colors were breathtaking, especially against the rustic backdrop. She filled every corner with pumpkins, gourds, and vibrant mums sourced from a local Amish farmer, along with soft candlelight in glass tumblers. The whole evening had this cozy, welcoming energy—just perfect for a crisp fall day in October.
For the dessert table, I wanted to create a blend of flavors and textures that would really embrace the season. We had Salted Caramel and Chocolate Ganache French macarons, mini pecan pies, oatmeal maple whoopie pies, and the most charming flower-designed cupcakes. Each cupcake was topped with icing that looked like tiny fall flowers, from sunflowers to zinnias, with flavors like maple French toast, cinnamon apple pie, pumpkin, Sunday pancakes, red velvet, and salted caramel.
And then, the wedding cake—a simple “naked” cake with the couple’s initials “carved” into the side, like the trunk of a tree. It was such a heartfelt, personal touch that brought everything together beautifully.
This wedding was a perfect reminder of how beautiful and cozy fall weddings can be, and I felt honored to help bring her vision to life. It’s moments like these that make creating for fall weddings such a joy!
