Friends, its Feature Friday! That means you get an inside scoop into one of my favorite sweet spots! For my very first feature, there was no question who I needed to highlight. My dear friends over at Flavor Cupcakery have been my go-to sweet spot from the very beginning. They offer so many amazing selections and they are the nicest (and sweetest) team around town so let me stop wasting time and dive right in!
My relationship with Flavor first started with I blindly emailed the owner Shelley asking if they'd be open to donating 1 dozen French Macarons for a styled shoot I was working on. This sort of request was brand new to me. Needless to say, I was so nervous, to begin with. Here I was asking this well-established bakery to donate product to a girl that had zero following and very little business. I had convinced myself they'd never go for it. Truth be told I name-dropped like you wouldn't believe. My dear friend Maggie Nolan with Living Radiant Photography was coordinating the shoot so I had her to make me look and feel legit. Ha! Fast forward through some fear-induced panic attacks I reached out to Flavor and sure enough they were more than happy to fulfill my request. I was blown away! The sheer kindness and trust they had for me to make their product look good in a styled shoot had me floored. From that point forward I knew I wanted to work with this company over and over again.
It didn't take long for me to fall head of heels with pretty much anything they baked. Their name has cupcake in it but let me just tell you, they offer to seriously scrumptious alternatives if the cupcake isn't your thing.
For this feature, I decided to go straight to my main point of contact to get the scoop on all their latest and greatest items. Meet Nikki, shop manager at the Cockeysville location (yes they have 2 locations, the other is in Bel Air, hey hey!)
1. How long have you been with Flavor and what is your favorite part about your job?
My name is Nikii and I am the Shop Manager of Flavor Cockeysville for a little over 2 yrs now. The favorite part of my job is building a lucrative, loyal, and passionate team who come to work every day ready to work and fill the world with Flavor!
2. Tell us a little bit about Flavor and what makes you all stand out from some other bakeries in the area?
Flavor is not just our brand it is our mission, and that is what sets us apart from the other bakeries in the area. Our warm welcome from when you walk in the door to the unique pack of flavor each item holds, from the fresh in house cupcakes, truffles, and macarons you come to flavor and leave with an experience that makes you want to come back!
3. Bragging time! :-) Tell us some accomplishments the bakery has achieved.
Flavor has may accomplishments to go but so far, won Cupcake Wars Season 4, Fox 45 cupcake Battle, voted 2019 Couples Choice Award- Wedding Wire, & voted Best Cupcakes in Maryland -The Daily Meal!
4. Cupcake is in the name so what are you top 3 best sellers in this category?
While we have over 200 flavors, our top 3 sellers would have to be Black Bottom, Salted Caramel, and Strawberry Shortcake!
5. You offer more than cupcakes, what are some other popular items on your menu?
Flavor thrives off of our cupcakes but we have a good bit of other items in the shop available such as Truffles, French Macarons, Parfaits, Pies, Custom Cakes, and Cockeysville has even started a breakfast series opening for local offices in the area from 8-10am! Here we feature breakfast cupcakes, quiche, muffins, and more!
6. How many flavors does Flavor Cupcakery actually offer?
Flavor offers over 200 cupcake flavors and growing!
7. Any fun facts about the bakery that you want to share?
Hmmm, that's a tough one. I'd have to say our Cupcake on Wheels. The fact that we have a mobile cupcake truck that goes out for events and can be pre-booked for celebrations, talk about convenience! All the best sweets on wheels!
